Meet the Musicians
A dedicated and creative teacher, Ching-Yi Lin is Professor of Violin at Western Kentucky University (WKU) and directs the year-round WKU String Academy for string students ages 4-18. She also serves on the faculty at the Indiana University Summer String Academy, the Hilltop String Festival, and the WKU Summer String Institute. She regularly performs in the Tennessee and Kentucky region and serves as the concert master of Paducah Symphony Orchestra.
Andy Braddock teaches at Western Kentucky University (WKU) and is the co-director of the WKU String Academy. In the summers, he teaches at the Indiana University Summer String Academy and directs the Hilltop String Festival and the WKU Summer String Institute. He is the principal violist of the Paducah Symphony Orchestra, and he regularly plays with the Nashville Symphony and the Nashville Opera.
Currently a member of the string faculty at Belmont University in Nashville, Boris Abramov maintains an active performing career across the United States and Europe, appearing as a soloist with orchestras such as the Jerusalem Festival, Columbus, Lagrange, Auburn, Brevard and the Verse Valley Sinfonietta. His recital career has taken him to stages in France, Belgium, Estonia, Switzerland, and Norway. An active chamber musician, he has performed with the American Chamber Players and appeared at the Killington and Montecito Music Festivals.
Dr. Ela Tokarska is a distinguished violinist, violist, and pedagogue with an international career spanning Europe, Asia, and the United States. She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Violin and Viola at Belmont University while maintaining an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist. Dr. Tokarska holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance with a Pedagogy Cognate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, as well as Master of Music and Artist Diploma degrees from Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music.
Cellist and conductor Patrick Hopkins is an active soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player having performed nationally and internationally in venues such as Alice Tully Hall, David Geffen Hall, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Merkin Hall, The New World Center, and Suntory Hall. He made his Lincoln Center debut in 2008 as soloist with the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra and has appeared three times as soloist with the Fairbanks Symphony. Dr. Hopkins has appeared as a member of The Juilliard Orchestra and the New World Symphony, and has served as principal cellist of the Aspen Opera Theater Company Orchestra, The Juilliard Orchestra, the Manhattan School of Music Symphony Orchestra, and the Rutgers Symphony Orchestra.
